Collection: The CVU Library has over 17,000 titles available to the CVU community. Most items circulate for 2 weeks & can be renewed after that.
Obligations: We do not charge fines for overdue items, but students with overdue items will be place on obligations until the item is returned or paid for. We adhere to the American Library Association’s Code of Ethics, which includes protecting a patron’s right privacy. We do not tell parents the titles of unassigned books a student has checked out. We periodically send students email notices listing items that are overdue.
Mission We believe the skills to effectively locate, ethically use, and critically evaluate information are as important as factual knowledge. We affirm the value of literature for academic success and an informed, empowered citizenry.
We strive to create an information-literate and reading-literate population among CVUHS students through instructional collaboration with faculty and staff, thoughtful selection of needed resources, and access to them.
Behavior Expectations:
- Come to do academic work–research, read, or study–so the library can be an academic space for everyone.
- Conduct your activities quietly so others can work.
- Eat or drink outside the library so the carpet & books stay clean.
- Limit your working groups to four people so the library stays quiet.
- Clean up after yourself so the library remains a nice space.
